NEC Summer Gala Fun Day...We have worked with the NEC on this fantastic event for 7 consecutive years with over 3000 guests. We supply all of the equipment necessary to deliver a safe yet exciting event including everything from toilets, marquees, staging and performers & entertainers. Each year we introduce a new theme and this year was no exception... NEC Funday 2007 Warwickshire countryside turns into jungle safari... The NEC’s annual funday was a spectacle to be experienced this year when 65 acres of Warwickshire woodland was turned into an exotic jungle complete with Tarzan, savages and even King Kong! The NEC has a long working relationship with Heart of England but this year’s Jungle Safari still managed to surpass all expectations. The weather was not on side due to the awful British summer but it didn't manage to dampen the enthusiasm of all the intrepid explorers that braved the conditions. Take a look at the fun we had below...
![]() ![]() The majority of players made camp then enjoyed an afternoon of quad biking and rage carting. Trade stalls were on site selling the latest gear and Heart of England provided food and drinks via its mobile catering unit. Later, the traditional players party got underway, which besides lots of drinking, included two live local bands and a paintball eating competition. The ‘Caspian Pipeline’ paintball competition took place the following day with around 700 players. No Job too Large...Coventry-based Agco wanted to impress their Massey Ferguson national dealer network with their new product range prior to the full launch at the internationally-renowned Smithfield Show. To host the sneak preview they chose the Heart of England Conference & Events Centre near Meriden, as it was able to provide unrivalled access for large vehicles coupled with the perfect rural setting. Over 100 key dealers travelled from all over the country to be wined and dined and see a series of presentations for the new range, including live action demonstrations of the vehicles including a combine harvester and a dramatic reveal of three new tractors – all in the same room as the conference. Delegates would have been forgiven for thinking it was a case of ‘smoke & mirrors’; however, the reality was there was a significant input from Heart of England’s on-site Audio Visual team, who used state-of-the art sound, light, theatrical and smoke effects, coupled with live video links to create a truly memorable experience.
Glittering Evening... When Birmingham’s leading commercial radio station, BRMB, decided to celebrate 30 years of broadcasting, there was only one place to head – Heart of England Conference & Events Centre near Meriden... The stars were certainly out on the night, with chart-topper Daniel Bedingfield weaving his vocal magic for 250 specially-invited guests, followed by one of the first opportunities to see Westlife perform their Rat Pack tribute live. Amongst the appreciative audience were UB40, Birmingham City Manager, Steve Bruce, and X-Factor judge, Louis Walsh, as well as representatives from all of the major companies in the area. Ironically, history nearly repeated itself, with a major power failure threatening to disrupt proceedings, just as it had done thirty years previously, with the miner’s strike biting hard during the station’s launch day. In the true spirit of the entertainment business, the show did go on thanks to back-up generators and a ‘spark’ who could work miracles – the guests were none-the-wiser, and an unforgettable evening was had by all. The concept for the evening was to take guests through a journey in time, reflecting the old BRMB of 1974 and championing the new look BRMB of the present day. In order to achieve this unique time-travelling experience, guests were ushered into a specially erected marquee, where reception drinks included Babycham and Snowballs and a cheesy 70’s disco was were accompanied by an equally cheesy buffet with quiche, quavers and sausages on sticks. Guests also had the opportunity to rub shoulders and have their pictures taken with Rod Stewart, Elton John and David Bowie – okay, well they were some of the best look-alikes in the country. As guests were starting to wonder if this was it – they were ushered into the main function hall by Breakfast Show Presenter, Elliott Webb. An immaculate stage set and state-of-the-art light and sound created the ultimate party experience, this was accompanied by fabulous food, fine wines and top class entertainment.

Allied Domecq
Two-year campaign to over 500 venues!
Allied Domecq contacted MVL after seeing the promotional vehicles we produced for Bass. Their brief was to raise the profile of their family-friendly public houses.
Working together, MVL and Allied Domecq developed a national campaign featuring a promotional vehicle which we named the Wacky Wagon. MVL recommended an articulated vehicle to best suit the client's needs.
MVL managed the entire project from sourcing the vehicle through to graphic design and vehicle rebuild. The Wacky Wagon was fitted with CCTV, lighting and furnished as a children's play centre. The design was specified in detail to meet all Health and Safety regulations.
MVL then managed the day-to-day running of the vehicle in a two-year campaign which saw it visit more than 500 venues throughout the UK .

Bass...
“Heart of England were extremely enthusiastic and could meet every need we highlighted. The house managers were on a bit of a low, and went away feeling highly inspired to take the company forward.”

“A big thank you to all the staff for organising such a day of activities – go-karting, quad-biking, off-roading, jousting, bucking broncos followed by an evening mediaeval banquet complete with jesters, castle set and entertainment. Heart of England had that special edge – they were original, creative, flexible and grasped exactly what we were looking for. They were a pleasure to work with, we were impressed by all the organisation. They took on everything so there was no stress or strain our end. We had a fantastic day and were inundated with letters of thanks from staff. "

Maria, the family fun day was fab!
We are getting fantastic feedback from the 723 Staff who attended (disappointing in itself, but marvellous considering the weather conditions!), and those who didn't attend (mostly because they couldn't BELIEVE for a second that it would go ahead!)are now regretting their decision, as they listen to the stories of the brave souls who came, and thoroughly enjoyed it (one die-hard said it was the best ever!) Please do thank ALL the guys for their brilliant efforts, and Well Done you!
Mikey, NEC Group

Thanks you for making Hollie-Mae and Bo's birthday fantastic. I'm sure it would not have gone so well without all the effort you put in. The extra effort you put in was beyond the call of duty and we are especially grateful. Many thanks,
