Experience Heart of England

Stephen Hammon

Dynamic, passionate and entrepreneurial. These are just three words which sum up the managing director of the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre.

Stephen Hammon has as much enthusiasm to drive the business forward today as he did when he bought the dilapidated Old Hall Farm in Fillongley near Coventry in the heart of England on February 14, 2001.

The 160-acre venue has been completely transformed to provide the ultimate experience for corporate and leisure guests and it continues to evolve each year.

The 65-acre woodland has created a stunning country park for walks, team-building activities and school visits while our high-tech wizards provide state-of-the-art presentations for conferences and awards dinners in our flexible conference suites.

Stephen’s television appearance on the popular Channel 4 programme Four in a Bed in November 2011 raised the profile of the entrepreneur as well as the venue, as bed and breakfast owners enjoyed an overnight stay at the four AA star-rated Old Hall House.

And the 48-year-old is not resting on his laurels with plans in the pipeline to take the development to the next stage.

Stephen is currently seeking planning permission to build a new 30-bedroom hotel, a visitor centre, an extra function suite to accommodate more weddings and a new 4x4 and quad biking course. Around 18,000 trees would be planted and 30 extra staff would be employed if the proposals are given the go ahead.

Stephen remains the driving force of the business and he is continually coming up with ideas for events, activities and facilities to further improve the site.

He is always keen to listen to feedback so please don’t hesitate to get in touch by emailing stephen@heartofengland.co.uk.
